Did you all have a good weekend? I sure did! I went down to LA with a friend and she took me on a bakery tour. I can’t wait to tell you guys about it later this week. I saw some pretty amazing flavors and desserts. It gives me some inspiration to get back in the kitchen and get to work.
While I was in Bass Lake this summer, I discovered Birthday Cake Oreos. Umm what? I have been living under a rock? These things are amazing. I knew I wanted to make some sort of dessert with them. So I used them in this Funfetti Poke Cake. What is so amazing about this cake? It is topped with Cake Batter Whipped Cream and Birthday Cake Oreos. This cake is sprinkle overload and I am in love.
One of the first desserts I recall making on my own was my grandmother’s “Dirt” recipe. Since it doesn’t require using an oven, it was easy for me to make when I was a little girl and it was a favorite of mine.
I wanted to take the classic Oreo and chocolate pudding recipe for dirt and make it a springtime treat. This is a simple dessert to put together than is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I used Golden Oreos and vanilla pudding. Continue reading
I can’t stop asking myself how amazing are these cookies? How have I gone so long without making them? And lastly, how long can I resist the urge to make them again; I know that I will eat the entire batch.
Not only is the chocolate chip cookies base absolutely out of this world, but stuff an Oreo in the middle and it gets ten times better. Use a large cookie scoop, make two large scoops of dough. Place an Oreo in between them and use your hands to smash the dough around the Oreo, closing the sides of the dough around the Oreo. Continue reading
